2017 Pantone Color of the Year – Greenery

Pantone’s Color of the Year is chosen each year to reflect the current cultural climate as well as forecast upcoming trends in fashion, entertainment and pop culture. For the past years, Pantone has brought huge influences in design and visual trends.

Just in time for Spring (at least in California), Pantone announced that their 2017 Color of the Year is Greenery. This crisp, invigorating color immediately brings images of green apples, fresh grass and lush gardens to mind. However, Pantone Color Institute’s vice president Laurie Pressman explains that there is more to this color than meets the eye:

“There’s a growing desire to reconnect with Nature and what is real, and find ways to disconnect from technology. We need a break. We need to stop and breathe,” Pressman told FORBES. “(Greenery) is about unity and community—connecting to oneself and others and a higher purpose, Nature.”
