Did you know that there are different types of adhesive fasteners that work best with certain applications? Many times, the wrong product for your application may result in lack of performance and product failure. However, by answering the right questions, you can make informed decisions that will impact the fastener’s performance and maintenance overtime. Below, we will answer the differences between our acrylic and rubber-based pressure sensitive fasteners and what to keep in mind when choosing the right product for you.
Question 1: What is the application?
We need to know what substrate material the product is being applied to and how the product is being used to recommend the right adhesive! Our rubber-based pressure sensitive is great for general purpose use such as paper, POP, signage, displays, and metals. Our acrylic-based pressure sensitive is great with outdoor applications such as automotive/aerospace, vinyl, PVC, and metal.
Question 2: Are there any special requirements for the fastener use?
Our acrylic and rubber-based pressure sensitives are latex free! But does your application require a fire retardant finish? Will the product undergo high or low temperatures? In addition, depending on the industry you are in, we have acquired quality certifications to meet every need.
Question 3: How long should the adhesive last?
Do you need an adhesive that will withstand frequent open and close cycles? Or does the adhesive need to be placed for long-term purposes? To request a peel and shear strength test report please contact us!
For the best use of both adhesives, you should always apply it to a clean and dry surface and allow for proper curing time. If you have any questions, or would like to request a sample, don’t hesitate to reach out to us! We’re here to help.
